The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Wednesday, August 12 reveals Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will hit his lowest point, after having sex with Marie Kirkland (Jade Harlow).
Also coming up, Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will spill the beans about Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Plus, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will share words of encouragement with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). And Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will question Devon Winters (Bryton James).
Y&R spoilers tease Abby will tell Devon she spoke with their babysitter, and their son just fell asleep. So they’ll decide to have a nightcap. Devon will want to toast to the new school he’s setting up. Abby will tell him he needs to take a moment, this is a huge change he’s making. But Devon will say Lily and Nate will do just fine running Winters.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Nate Admits Medicine Was Always His Passion
Abby will say this is about him and wonder about his music label and make a face. “What is it you don’t like about all this?” he’ll ask. “What’s wrong with you?” Abby will start crying and say he was in such a bad place. “I thought I’d lost you forever.” But Devon will say he’s right here and not going anywhere.
Meanwhile, Jack and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will run into Cane at the GCAC. He’ll tell Jack his brother is now working for him at Chancellor. Jack will ask if it’s a bad joke. But Cane will say he offered him a job. Jack will be surprised he’s working for Cane, of all people, and wonder why he accepted.
“Billy’s discovered a new obsession inside Chancellor,” he’ll reply. “It has something to do with one of his wild goose chases that’ll lead nowhere.” Cane will say if he keeps it up, he’ll cut Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) loose and suggest Jack talk to him.
Diane and Jack will leave and head to Society. She’ll be shocked to hear that Nick is addicted to drugs and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) reunited with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). “In my opinion, Nikki is not a very good friend,” Diane will comment.
At Lily’s place, she’ll tell Nate he’s great at business but she knows it’s not his passion. “With Devon leaving Winters, I’m not going anywhere,” he’ll say. “I won’t do that to you.” Lily will ask if Devon hadn’t quit, would he have announced he was leaving.
Nate will admit that medicine has always been his passion. However, he never thought he’d go back. But talking with Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) and being in the middle of a medical crisis felt like home. “I think you should go back,” Lily will tell him. “I mean it, I do.”

He’ll say he wants to be a surgeon again and there are new procedures that could repair the tendons in his hand. Lily will tell him being a surgeon is part of who he is. “I really think that you should go for it.” Then Nate will send Devon a text, asking for him to come over to his place.
So, Devon will show up at Nate’s condo. “Your big news kind of bumped against my own,” he’ll tell his cousin. “I’m thinking about returning to medicine, as a surgeon.” Devon will say he’s sorry for what he did and Nate will tell him he forgave him a long time ago. Then Devon will offer to fly in any specialist he needs that could help him perform surgery again.
As for Lily, she’ll meet Cane at the GCAC bar and tell him Devon and Nate both left Winters. He’ll say if she wants to take over Chancellor again, he would gladly step aside for her. But Lily will say she’s going to stay at Winters. Then the couple will toast to new adventures.
At the Park Motel, Nick and Marie will start removing their clothes. He’ll get on top of her, as she moans. In the next scene, it’ll be obvious they slept together. Nick will get up, splash some water in his face, and look at himself in the mirror.
He’ll plan to leave and write a note to Marie. But then he’ll look at her and touch her face, realizing she’s not breathing. Nick will do some chest compressions on her and she’ll wake up. He’ll tell Marie he’s calling an ambulance but she’ll get angry. “I want to die,” she’ll tell him.
Finally, Nick will grab his phone, but she’ll knock it out of his hand. “Just leave me alone,” Marie will say. She’ll add they’ll just call her husband. Nick will say he wants to help her. So he’ll call 911 and the paramedics will take Marie away. Then Nick will grab his phone and make another call. “Sharon,” he’ll say. “I’m in bad shape, I need you to come get me.”
